Billy Ray, citing roundabout, declares Roscoe Village “the most European neighborhood in Chicago”

February 19, 2006

Despite the fact that old William has never been to Europe or even seen some of Chicago’s most ethnic neighborhoods such as Little Italy, Polish Village, Greektown, or Ukranian Village, he is declaring Chicago to be the most European neighborhood in Chicago. This, according to William, has everything to do with the oddly placed roundabout on Cornelia and Wolcott one block east of his Roscoe Village home. “Over in Europe, they have roundabouts at all of their big intersections,” said Bill. “That’s what Leon told me.”
See Billy’s buddy Leon lived in Ireland for the good part of the year, and evidentally has been telling William old Europe stories.
Even though he was informed by his owners that he is full of shit, William could care less. Every day he asks to be walked by the roundabout, and when we’re walking by he shouts “hey kids…Big Ben! Parliament!” What an ass.
