local couple obsessed with recent safari trip, seen trekking around lincoln park with african tour guide

January 10, 2006

Jeff and Christy Jones, fresh off of an amazing honeymoon in Africa, were so moved by their experience that they refuse to let go. It’s been an unseasonably warm January in Chicago, leading to some strange behavior in parts of the city. In one incident, Jeff and Christy Jones were recently spotted in Lincoln Park in full Safari gear with a cab driver who they hired to dress and act as their guide. When stopped in the park, Jeff said “no time for small talk, I hear there are lions gathered in the Lincoln Park Zoo and I’m gonna bag me one this time.” Christy added, “Jeff, don’t talk to the natives, they probably just want to sell us something. And keep an eye out for wild buffalo.”

Witnesses report that upon finding the lions, Jeff was so amused by their mating ritual that he couldn’t find it in his heart to shoot them. Fortunately, the Jones family and their tourguide left the Zoo without incident.
